Since there often have been reported fake apps and bogus merchandise Thomas and I did some research to test this Word Mole version. Here is our conclusion.
What do other people think of Word Mole for iPhone
The customer ratings in Apples App Store seemed to be quite promising. About 150 people voted an average of 4 out of 5 stars. The written ratings can be found in a wide range from horrible by Soxs0307etx to phenomenal by Moswald201. If you take a closer look you will find out that nearly all comments are negative and their authors rated Word Mole for iPhone with only one star. Here are some exapmles:
I bought this app impulsively due to excitement of seeing the word mole app and the description. Do not waste time or money. Upsetting to say the least.
Deletes all the vowels during play and kills your game!!!
My screen has frozen to many times.
However, there are also people who love this game and can not understand all this criticism. To give you an idea of some positive ratings here are a few examples:
It is good, but not as good as the Blackberry one. I also do not see anything wrong with the app. It works perfectly fine.
This is the absolute best app ever made I don’t know what your talking about.
It is still a fun game and hopefully in future releases the bugs are fixed.
What do we think of Word Mole for iPhone
I am not a Blackberry user so I can’t compare Word Mole for iPhone with the original game. Nevertheless, I can state my opinion on this game on it’s one. To put it in a nutshell this word game is quite okay but it doesn’t knock me off my heels.
To be fair, it is not that boring because you still have to build words from letters under time pressure. The layout is alright and I just love the concept of a mole digging for words. If you ask me most of the rules of the original Blackberry game are converted in this version as well: the vegetable bonus letters, the watering can, et cetera.
Different to some experience reports my screen did not freeze or any kind of music distracted me. To test some words and to find out if our word lists can be used playing Word Mole for iPhone I consulted our word finder. I have not noticed any inconsistency either.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the mode to play in a multi-player game. That was the charm of this game. The only way open to us is to wait until all bugs are fixed and more features are available for Word Mole for iPhone.
